Officers observed during the fight Tralisha did present and swing at the victim with a knife and brass knuckles attempting to cause serious bodily injury to another person. Tralisha was arrested and arraigned before Judge Engman and Bail was set at $10,000 Straight. Due to being unable to post bail, Tralisha was remanded to the McKean County Jail. Hamilton-Gibson Productions is thrilled to announce its 35th Season, offering a rich array of shows, community engagement and educational programs. Under the leadership of Artistic Director Thomas Putnam, the Main Stage line-up has been planned featuring seven productions, plus additionalregular seasonal offerings, special events, long-running activities for all ages and theater arts camps for kids.The 2025 season’s theme is igniting HG’s 35 birthday candles and holding them high to lightthe way into the future.

In more recent years HG has expanded its line-up of Main Stage directors to include more community members who have gained experienceat HG and other places, and who are able to take the helm. For 2025 seven different directors will take the lead on various projects. Putnam shares, “Those who are interested in directing may submit one or more titles they’d like to direct as part of our process for building a season. The titles that are submitted are not always chosen for the season, but there’s a certain strength and health if it works out for a director to direct a play about which they are passionate.”

Acting Up!, Hamilton-Gibson’s readers theatre program for adults 55 and older, will start up again for the 2024-2025 season on Tuesday,September 10 from 2:00-3:00pm in the Deane Center for the Performing Arts, 104 Main St. 2nd floor,Wellsboro. Since its beginning in 2002, an ever-changing group of fun-loving senior citizens has gathered in Wellsboro on the second and fourth Tuesdays of each monthfrom September through Mayto read stories, plays, and poems aloud.

Galeton had a very wet August thanks to 8 thunderstorms. Severe flooding took place in Westfield, Knoxville and surroundingareas. Pine Creek overflowed throughout the valley. Galeton suffered waterline damage and the town was without water for the most part of 2 days. The sewage line was broken in the area of Clinton St. Many homes had floodedbasem*nts which resulted in damaged furnaces and water heaters. Electricity was off for 4 hours which, of course, shut down basem*nt sump pumps. I have lived in Galeton most of my life and I have never seen flooding like this. River Street was under water. The school and lower Germania Streets were saved by the dikes.
Many people have asked me “how muchrain did we get”. Here is the answer to that question. The monthly rainfall total was 10.25″ Last year we received 6.82″.

The major rainfall event occured with thunderstormsovernight on the 8th and early morning of the 9th. During that time I measured .84″ at 8am. From 8am to noon we received 2,54″ for a total of 3.38″ . That was a lotof rain in that 4 hour period. Other parts of the northerntier received more. Iy rushed down the ravines and hollows taking out bridges, roads and buildings.

We only had 13 days without measurablerainfall. We had 24 foggy mornings. We had morning readings mostly in the mid 60s and the afternoons warmed up into the 80’s.
The mowing season is almost over. Next it will be leaf raking time. Of course everyone knows what follows that.
I will enclose a photo of the Galeton waterfall, Falling Springs. It once was one of the 3 or 4 sources for excellent water.

At first-time foe Centenary University on Friday, Penn College bested the home team in shots on goal, 8-6, but couldn’t find the back of the net in a 2-0 loss.

Marie L. “Dolly” Richardson, 86, of Coudersport, formerly of Roulette, passed away with her loving family by her side on Sunday, September 1, 2024, in Sweden Valley Manor, Coudersport.

Funeral arrangements, entrusted to the care of Kevin J. Dusenbury, funeral director/owner of the Virgil L. Howard Funeral Home, Shinglehouse, are incomplete and will be announced with a full obituary.
